As I stated on the blog, "The Next Phase"  is the last chapter in this branch, at least for the time being. It sets up a situation—the planned coup against Chelsea on the cheerleading squad—that will be Will's first test on how to use his doppelganger gang to run the school; it also identifies some early candidates for him to partner with. Because, remember, the scheme in this branch is that he has partners to help him run the school, so that he doesn't have to manage dozens of doppelgangers directly. Also, even though he doesn't realize it, he will literally kill himself if he tries to make more than ten of the creatures.

I've also been worried about how, as a writer, to manage a conspiracy so large. I've come up with a plan, though it will have to tried before we know if it will work, and that's also part of the chapter: Though Will is going to have multiple partners, he will be working with each partner one on one, and none of the partners will realize that there are other partners. This, I hope, will keep each thread of the conspiracy manageable, as I've already had some practice with this sort of thing when Will has partnered with Chelsea, or Sydney, or Caleb. But that's something to worry about when I return to this branch.
