A month-long novel-planning challenge. NaNoWriMo'ers welcome! 2026 sign-ups open Sept 1st. |
I was feeling the mental flounder too Adherennium To quote from the assignment: "The more hardships your main character faces, the more readers will cheer them on, and the more engaged and invested the reader will be in your story." While it was hard to think of complications at the start, once I got going they started flowing. And I felt myself starting to 'cheer my character on'. This means (in my instance at least) that exercise works for the writer as well as the intended audience. :D But seriously, one of my complications was as lame as that she lost her shoe. So really lame (ooh a pun) but it triggers so many possibilities in my mind. Your ideas will be far better than mine. But if you need, you can use that one too ;) Hope |
