Noticing Newbies

Hi all-
I’m a 30 something year old living in Canada, attempting to take my writing a little more seriously for the first time in my life.
I’m an avid reader, perpetual student (currently studying English literature and pop culture), and lover of all things creative!
I mostly write (very amateur) poetry, and have been sharing it with people for the first time in the last few months in classes. I’m hoping to find some community with other lovers of literature, and hopefully some guidance or criticism on some things. Class sharing was great- but people tend to shy away from actual constructive criticism in class and stick to “it’s great”.
Anyway- that’s a bit about me. Still figuring this site out (I’m basically 100 years old when it comes to operating a computer and this site is a little hard to navigate. Hope I did this right)
