Yeah, I'm pretty sure that she's brand new. And I'm kinda in the same boat as you in regards to being a bit thrown off at first about her. I didn't realize that she wasn't a senior until she said she didn't know who Chelsea Cooper was, upon which I went back and did some rereading.
I think you make a good point about her character being somewhere betwee Paulina and Lindsay. They're all quite assertive, so they give off some pretty similar vibes.
