Yes. You give vinyl 2 ratings - cover and record. So my copy of the Rolling Stones' first album is a D/A - lousy cover, scratched and torn, but the vinyl has maybe one or two pops in it. Meanwhile, my copy of The Beatles' Rubber Soul is C/D - cover is okay, but there are scratches in one song and a lot of pops on side 2.
My son has said if he ever sells my music collection (he reckons he'll keep it, though, as the music nerd I have turned him into), he'll use an official auction house and not ebay. Reckons he can get a better return and attract real collectors who will pay bigger dollars.
