The problem with these, in my opinion, is it does reduce the amount that students are actually learning and taking in. I can tell you that, if caught using them, in some universities and all high schools I have dealt with, the student will be automatically failed. I have kids in high school and university at the moment (plus my experiences as a teacher and academic) and I can say the rules are blunt - use a service, get failed.
So there is a risk of failure and a risk of the student not actually learning... in which case why not just buy a degree from one of those on-line alleged universities?
