"I knew this would happen," Tarion exclaimed. "You broke it."

Meridith stood opening the shuttered window. "Now don't be silly. I only bent it a bit."

"Well, being bent doesn't make it work any better." He complained.

"What are you complaining about. I thought you thought I was fun to be with."

"Yes. But..."

"But what?" The Dwell said reaching up and brushing the back of her hand on the high ceiling, her statuesque frame silhouetted by the moonlight.

"But...now it won't fit in the lock. What good is a lock pick if it won't fit in a lock. We might as well go back to the Inn and go to bed.
