NOV 2024 - hang out with theBees and enjoy the Honey. NEW challenge for 1-15 NOV is OUT! |
I have a fondness for broccoli that often gets me funny looks - I've come to the conclusion that most people are eating it as some kind of penance. "Forgive me father, for I have sinned." "For your penance, say three Our Fathers, two Hail Marys and have broccoli four nights this week." Funnily enough, I can't stand its cousin, cauliflower, and it is a source of irritation when restaurants provide them mixed together as a side dish. I have to find someone to split it with, and we end up separating green from white with a meticulousness that verges on OCD behaviour. It puts me in mind of the old nursery rhyme. Jack Spratt could eat no green and his wife could eat no white. To split the side in restaurants could take all bloody night. PS I quite like peas. |
