Game set and match I opened my banking app and smiled inwardly when I saw the balance had increased by thirty thousand dollars. Very nice, I thought. Jordan sidled up to me as we sat in the locker room. “Well that was one for the books!” he said. “It started off a bit one sided, well very one sided ,” he continued. “Then Bateman folded. Nobody knows what happened.” I nodded and closed my app. “It was a surprise I must agree.” He turned to me and shook his head. “One minute Bateman’s two sets up and hitting the ball so hard and fast that Peters didn’t have a chance and then the next minute he can’t seem to see the ball.” I shook my head from side to side in sympathy with Jordan’s upset. “Are you working this evening?” he asked. “No, actually I might call it quits for this week. Somethings come up and I have to fly home” “Nothing serious I hope,” he added. I smiled. “Nothing serious.” “Did you put all the water bottles out for this evenings match as well?” I told him I had as well as replacing the towel buckets with fresh towels and making sure the umpires chair was in order. Then a horrible thought occurred. Had I removed the water bottles with the tiny red spot on the caps? |
