Honoring Our Veterans - Challenge

Frequently asked questions starter (once I have enough I'll do a separate post (pinned), drop down in the main forum, or document. If you have a strong preference between post, drop down, or document, feel free to share).

Question: Where will the annual awardicon be put?
Answer: You get to choose. I recommend choosing your favorite item that you wrote for this challenge, or if you have a folder just for this challenge, the folder, but as long as you provide me with the link before the award date, I'll be glad to put it wherever you want.

Question: Am I limited to poems and stories for my entries?
Not at all. Any uplifting / honorable writing that pertains to veterans or military life qualifies. You could also do an essay, personal letter, memorial, lyrics, blog post, or any number of things. If we do end up doing a review challenge, do note that longer entries are less likely to be reviewed, but they are still welcome.

Question: Do I have to be a veteran to participate?
Not at all. Everyone is welcome!

Question: Is there a list of Writing.Com Veterans?
I do have a list of veterans that I maintained even before leading this group. If you are a veteran, and are not yet on my list, do let me know. I might do something special for you all on Veterans' Day. Here's the link: "WDC Veterans List"

Question: How long did Monty lead the Honoring Our Veterans group?
Answer: For about nine amazing years! He thinks he took it over from our esteemed COUNTRYMOM in 2016. She founded it in 2002.
