Honoring Our Veterans - Challenge

Hearty thanks to everyone who entered our first round of the challenge in April! I hope you'll all enter again for May, and feel free to invite some friends to join you in entering. Every qualified entry for May will receive 1,000 gps and be entered in the drawing for an exclusive merit badge. If we have ten or more entries, I'll draw for two merit badges.

Your monthly entries count towards the big annual rewards in November, so be sure to enter as many months as you can and help spread awareness for Honoring Our Veterans.

Copied from the forum: "Starting at 13:00 (1pm) on March 31, 2025, this contest is changing to a challenge. It is our hope that this will encourage greater participation and awareness.

Each month, a merit badge winner will be selected by virtual dice.

Also, you can earn credits towards awardicons and merit badges to be awarded in November, during the big Cyber Weekend event. Because we're essentially starting in April this year, the number of entries is lower than it will be for December 2025 - November 2026.

For year one (March 31 - November 20, 2025) you can earn one of the following (highest earned will be awarded, one award level per person per year):

FIRST PRIZE / Gold status: a 50K AWARDICON AND HONORING OUR VETS MERIT BADGE by entering a poem, story, essay or some other tribute to veterans in each of at least 7 months. [For year two, November 22, 2025 - December 1, 2026, it will be 10 months.]

SECOND PRIZE / Bronze status: - 25K AWARDICON AND HONORING OUR VETS MERIT BADGE by entering a poem, story, essay or some other tribute to veterans in each of at least 6 months. [For year two, November 22, 2025 - December 1, 2026, it will be 8 months.]

THIRD:PRIZE / Silver status: -10K AWARDICON AND HONORING OUR VETS MERIT BADGE by entering a poem, story, essay or some other tribute to veterans in each of at least 4 months. [For year two, November 22, 2025 - December 1, 2026, it will be 6 months.]

HONORABLE MENTION: HONORING OUR VETS MERIT BADGE by entering a poem, story, essay or some other tribute to veterans in each of at least 3 months. [For year two, November 22, 2025 - December 1, 2026, it will be 4 months.] ."
