 Hello to the Honoring Our Veterans Challenge and Honoring Our Veterans Group. I'm the new owner of this Group and I'm glad to be here.  Just a little about me: I was born and raised in Manchester, New Hampshire. When I turned 18, I wanted a "grand" adventure and joined the US Army as an MP. I enlisted straight out of high school and went to Ft. McClellan, Alabama as a Private, E-1. In fact, the anniversary of my entry date is coming up, 8 JULY (1986). I spent my basic training and advanced individual training (AIT) in Alabama and was sent to Germany for my first overseas tour in DEC 1986. Boy, do I have stories. My units include: 583rd Ordnance Company 295th MP Company HHT, 3/11 ACR in Fulda/Bad Hersfeld, Germany (1989-1992) Headquarters, NTC, Ft. Irwin 127th MP Company I left active duty in NOV 1997 and transplanted myself to Southern California, where my husband was born and raised. Since FEB 2000, I've been a 911 dispatcher for LAPD. I've been on WDC since APR 2005 and writing ever since I was a kid. The boys were born 2002 and 2006 and are now young adults. Retirement from the City of Los Angeles looms ahead in FEB 2027. I'd like to thank you for participating in the Honoring Our Veterans Challenge. There will be no changes to the challenge or the rules, and I look forward to seeing your entries. Allons! Steph   |
