Well, I'll give you some advice - write something (poem, short story, thoughts about a favorite topic), and review like 3-5 different folks, making sure that the reviews are of decent quality, and like 250+ characters long (talk about how you feel about the item, any spelling/grammar issues - or note if you don't see any, and perhaps suggesting improvements, as well as saying "good luck" to contest entries). and, basically, get noticed as an active member. At lest, that's what I'd do - folks would trip over themselves to help active members in need of help.
