Is PayPal not working or no longer a usable payment option?

I tried buying the 3 month basic subscription and every time I used PayPal to pay. The payment did not process and i got this miss from the website:

This payment failed to process with PayPal. It have been processed already. Please check your email for an order confirmation. If no confirmation has been received, check your PayPal account and/or contact us in our "Technical Support Forum" forum for additional help. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your support!

I haven't got any email's about anything nor have there been any charges to my bank account, just wondering if i should just use a different payment option or something is wrong with the PayPal option on Writing.com and i should wait.
