Just following up to close this out:

We discussed this via email and you're going to remove your payment method after making a purchase to be extra sure you don't get automatically charged. Without a payment method on file, the system absolutely can not renew you as it has nothing with which to charge an automatic renewal. While setting the auto-renew to disabled after making a payment also does the trick, you definitely can't and won't be auto-renewed without a payment method. I acknowledge that this is an extra step for you after making a payment and apologize for that inconvenience.
