It is hybrid publishing. This means they can keep charging you over and above the initial costs. You pay for a package and, truth be told, 30% is low for a hybrid. The book division is called Trilogy Christian Publishing. To explain some differences: Self-publishing means you pay upfront and then keep 100% of the money made after that (less printing costs for each new run). And my last 2 traditional publishing contracts cost me nothing and got me royalties of 30% for print, 50% & 60% for e-book, and 33 1/3% for audiobook (only one did an audiobook). Looking at the list of hybrid and self publishers, Trilogy has a "Caution" on it. (https://selfpublishingadvice.org/best-self-publishing-services/ - page 17). Anyway, that's where I come from. The two Christian publishers I would recommend you try for full books are Tyndale House and Bethany House. Short stories and poems there are a few others. While I am not a Christian myself, I have helped edit a Christian book (based on the struggles of Mary after Jesus was resurrected) and these 2 were definitely the best we found. Hope that helps! |
