I tend to work with others in Interactives and Campfires.
For an interactive, the idea is that there is some Random Person who will read your stuff, and like it enough to go, "I can contribute to this."
For a Campfire, you basically know from past experiences (like interactives) that two or three others are interested in the same things you write about. That or trust that your one co-author knows a few folks interested in similar things, and is willing to tell you to tell them that they mentioned them, as well contacting them themselves to contact you. (Basically, either Joe knows that both Rob and Sam like the general topic that Joe likes writing about, or while Joe knows about Rob, Rob also knows that Sam like said topic, and this contacts Sam and tells them about Joe, and/or tells Joe about Sam, who them get ahold of each other.)
