"The Blue Zones Challenge: A 4-Week Plan for a Longer, Better Life"
by Dan Buettner (Author), Melissa Farris (Illustrator)

I finished listening to the audio book version of this a couple days ago. It was really good, but when it ended, I was like, "That's it?!" I didn't feel like listening to it really prepared me to do the challenge. I know I was brushing my teeth and doing housework and what not when listening, so I might have missed some things (particularly, are *all* the things he described required? No way can I get my screen time to under an hour a day for a whole month), but it seemed like a summary with a concrete action plan would have been helpful [note to self, be sure to add this to my own future books as I had thought my books were so short that it wasn't needed - it's always needed! This is a good lesson learned].

Pros:
-Great refresher of the basic Blue Zones (original) book, and some updated news / research since then.
-Loved the sample diets from each region.
-Loved the Japanese five person cohort for life thing, especially the group of ladies whose average age was 102 and still get together every night.
-At the beginning, I was so excited, I asked a neighbor to join me. I was ready to start that day though. Unfortunately, she wants to do it, but not until January, and my January is pretty packed already and definitely not good to go for a month of only an hour screen time a day. But the pro part is the excitement. The author had me really excited to give this a go, until I got to that glitch. Really that was the only deal breaker item for me. I already do a lot of it, but finding my core five people to try this with would give me a more social aspect to my habits.
-It was a really interesting book.
-I liked both the science and the stories.
-I liked the author's writing style in general.
-The paper version looks beautiful. I kind of wished I'd bought that instead, but I am also trying to simplify, and hoping to move so it doesn't make sense to buy paper books right now.

Cons:
-I expected a concrete plan, with recipes and a sample meal plan, and a check off kind of list, and if it was provided, I either missed it or it wasn't part of the audio book. He did reference some pdfs that come with the audio book, but I still need to look for them. I wish they got emailed to you when you bought the book, instead of having to hunt them down. Though that's not his fault, it's the site I bought it from that makes it hard.
-The limit of one hour of screen time a day.
-The end of the book left me feeling like I needed to figure out how to put everything he'd just talked about into action on my own, instead of following his plan.
