"Max" is pronounced as in the first syllable of "maximum." If you want the IPA notation, it's /mæks/

IPA notation for "Griffin" is /ˈɡrɪf.ɪn/. The first syllable is accented and rhymes with "if," and the second syllable is the same as the English word "in."
