Boney M were a Caribbean ensemble that were never out of the charts when I was growing up. This was their big Christmas hit from 1978 and was a UK #1.
The one male member, Bobby Farrell, was primarily a dancer. If his accent seems a bit weird in this it's because it was dubbed by their German manager (who was later behind the Milli Vanilli farce where neither of that duo actually sang)—apparently he didn't like Farrell's singing voice, so he was always dubbed in recordings. At least the leads here could sing.
