Newbie Spotlight: A "Heart-First" Introduction

Hi everyone! I’m new to the site and still figuring out where all the "cogs" are. I’ve been going by VerseVanguard, and while I usually try to keep things light (I’ve already had a public battle with my laundry this week), I also believe in sharing the deeper stuff.

I wanted to share a piece from my portfolio called "My Reservation."

It’s a poem about that private space we retreat to when life gets heavy—a "reservation" I wouldn't wish on anyone, but one many of us know well.

"This darkness is familiar to many so I'm told / Where we sit among the ruins of our life which once was gold..."
