"A Problem Page For All!"

Yeah, Mum worked because we needed money - really, really needed it! I don't know why they had three kids if money was going to such an issue...or...never mind, that sounds terrible! You know, I think Mum actually wanted to work. She really enjoys numbers and bookkeeping (well, to an extent! I can't imagine ever enjoying it), and working was a way for her to feel productive besides baking and child rearing. We used to have these two wonderful babysitters, Special and...some guy whose name I forget, who would make spaghetti with us and read to us, and make flower and fern boquets... They both moved away, and Mum and Pap had no other options. We really were poor, looking back on that! Our windows were sheets of sturdy plastic, we used a little camp stove to cook, and traded eggs for groceries or showers at a local campsite.

It was actually kinda cool!
