Getting started in an online community

I have passion for writing. An amateur and naive of what lies ahead. Since college I've always wanted to write something worth being read. It always ends up just me throwing it all into my room and get started with another one. I write stories and I feel Im not yet ready to let the world read it. Ridiculous.
