It's a destructive phenomenon.

I stopped at CVS today. They were putting out Christmas items. I touched one of them, and got a very small amount of glitter on my finger. A very, very small amount of a very, very small, sparkly thing. I will be washing my hands until Easter before I am finally rid of it.
