"Come on Razoul, just give me the facts." you pat her hand encouragingly and smile at her. When you first started you thought she was a fellow player and were happy to share any reward and treasure with him. He had a wry sense of humour, and a reckless streak to his adventuring that you rather admired. However seeing her now, you wonder if she was a player or merely a computer character.
Razoul blushes a deeper shade of red. The slaver quickly fills her hesitant pause.
"HER name is Rose, after the beautiful flower, and *I* am an honest trader." he falls silent as you draw the first inch of your sword with a cold metallic hiss.
However, you don't want to scare the man too much in his own business.
"It's true John, the fault is mine."
Clearly she is embarrassed to be seen in such a reduced state, and not wishing to prolong the conversation here. So you growl to the slaver "How much for the girl?"
"Five hundred drachma." he almost smiles. This is the business that he is more familiar with. He has set a high price for a slave girl, knowing that she is a former friend. You toss him a bag with six hundred drachma in it.
"The extra hundred is an apology for my manners." You slide the sword fully into the scabbard, and taking her chain you lead her back out into the street.
The owner is glad to see you off the premises and you approach your carriage. You wonder about letting her sit beside you and questioning her as you ride back to your palace, as he was a good friend. You can hardly wait to find out what happened to his mansion, and who rules his harem now that Rose has replaced Razoul. You even have a favourite in his former harem that you yearn to ask after. Although you aren't sure how polite it would be to ask about her currently.
Proper etiquette means that she should be tethered at the rear of the carriage like any other possession she shouldn't be treated as a human.
