Clutching his prize, the boy ran towards the factory. He was going to be late. But he had a wonderful necklace. If there was someone he could give it to to trade for some money... Well maybe later. Right now he needed to get to the factory so he could have some money for today.
At the factory, the foreman snarled at him, but let him through. With a threat not to be late ever again ringing in his ears, the little boy joined the lines of workers at his job.
He wondered what he should do about the necklace. Maybe one of his friends knew someone who took this sort of stuff. But if he told them about it... well it wasn't that he didn't trust his friends, but you never knew. It was best to look out for oneself. Yet how else was he suppose to find someone to trade his necklace with? The necklace wasn't any use to him unless he could get money from it.
