After a second thought, Elith finally decided that she didn't want to waste time and just walked the ground. Her wings could use some time to relief themselves from pain and exhaustion anyway. And surely those beasts and monsters only showed up in forests and dark places like that, right? Surely not in towns like these, Elith assured herself.
And so, she wiped the dry trail of tear from her cheek and started walking, following the brightest street out of many paths.
For the first time since she ran away blindly, Elith looked around. Sure, she had noticed that not many fairies came out this time. Magnous wasn't that big, and fairy-kids had gone home in the afternoon, while the fairy-dads had just come back from their workplace. Or fairy-mothers, who plainly just got ready for preparing the dinner for the family.
At the thought, Elith cringed. The berries had felt sour in her mouth, and she wanted to eat decent meal. She had to apologize, pride or no pride came in the way.
But suddenly, she had goosebumps. As she stepped, something, some-fairy behind her also stepped. When she stopped, it also stopped. Now, the stories of folk tales filled her mind with unwanted fear. She felt her fairy-blood drained from her face as she decided what to do...
