The cabby sighed. "Wish I was." He said pitifully. "By law Every man, woman, child and domesticated animal in the town must be clinically obese."
There was an awkward silence for a few moment's, the sound of the engine the only thing to break the silence until she spoke up.
"...why? I- I mean WHY! What could possess someone to make a law that forces people to be so , so unpleasent?"
The cabby chuckled. Lisa reddened in embarressment.
"Sorry." She said quietly.
"Don't be, theyre aint a person in town who would disagree with you, No one in town likes it. But it's either this or go to prison."
The actually send you to prison if your not fat enough?" She said once more in a shocked tone at the ludicrousness of it all.
"Uh huh, at least out here you get a choice in how much you get to weigh after you hit obesity. In there they make all the prisoners immobile so they can't escape.
"That's ghastly." She muttered.
"Yep." The cabby quipped.
Another silence.
"So...how exactly can the mayor do it?"
"Enforce it you mean?" The cabby asked.
Lisa nodded "I'd assume that since evryone must be obese that would include the police for?"
A nod.
"Then how can he make this law if no one can enforce it for him."
