Jackie held her head low as she exited the sumo dojo. Yet again she failed to enroll, being naturally skinny proved quite problematic for a girl yearning to defeat the sumo champ. Jackie grabbed at her insignificant single belly roll in frustration.
"Dammit! I'm still underweight!" Jackie cried out "Even after eating all those extra meals, I'm still below the weight requirements."
The female sumo circuit had instituted a weight requirement a few years earlier. This was due to multiple deaths, all of which happened to Jackie's older sisters. Jackie was the youngest of a set of sisters who possessed a prowess for sumo wrestling. Inspite of their thin bodies, they were agile enough to throw heavier girls off. Until they faced Ann, a girl well into obesity. No matter how innately skilled they were, their pathetic weights proved futile compared to the indomitable girth of Ann. Each sisters' overconfidence led them to their deaths. The committee was unable to overlook the fact that every girl who died was thin, much lighter than their competitors and thus installed a weight requirement.
Alone, Jackie was left with nothing other than the resolve to avenge her sisters. Regarding her older sisters' thin bodies as a weakness, Jackie started to heavily eat with the intention of becoming fatter than any of her sisters. Unfortunately Jackie, like her sisters, were genetically slender. Despite that inconvenience, Jackie remained determined to plump up.
As Jackie walked away from the dojo, she was greeted by her two best friends Frankie and Shaina who felt obligated to lift her spirits.
"Didn't make it." Frankie asked noticing Jackie's apparent dejection.
"Grrrr why am I so skinny!? I eat and eat but I'm only 138 pounds." snarled the aspiring sumo girl.
"Hey look registration is open all week. How much more do you have to gain?" Shaina gently asked.
"Girls have to weigh at least 160 pounds to enlist." pouted Jackie. "How could I possibly gain 22pounds in a few days?"
Frankie clutched several coupons in her pocket knowing they couldn't fulfill such a large gain. "It may not work but I do have coupons for some nice greasy burgers."
A small smile grew on Jackie's face. "Yeah...Let's go have some burgers."
Jackie's spirits were slightly lifted from her friend's kind gesture. Throwing her arms over her friends and squeezing them close, the three girls went to the fastfood joint and all three ate their fill.
