Since settling down as Queen of Alexandria, Garnet knew the days of trailing the continent and fighting battle after battle were far behind her. Her duties now didn't lie with healing her comrades, or summoning help from mystical beasts above, it was with seeing that her kingdom was well looked after. In actuality, Garnet had very little to do when it came to the every day running of her city. Her guards knew their positions, and followed the law rigidly, even the Pluto knights had shaped up to perform their jobs almost flawlessly. Her advisor took care of everything without so much as a bat of his eyelid, and would report to her at the end of the week with a two hour meeting that told her almost everything that was going on in her kingdom.
Just two years after her coronation, Garnet was left to her own devices during the day, as long as she didn't leave the castle without being flanked by at least two bodyguards. It was tiresome, Garnet knew full well they were only looking out for her best interest, but it was just so boring not being able to go where she wanted to, and when she wanted to. She found herself missing her travels with Zidane all the more, but if she were honest, she missed the monkey tailed thief even more. Kuja had always been fast to call Garnet a canary who wasn't content with remaining in her gilded cage, it was even more true for Zidane. While his official home was the castle, he came and went as he pleased, sometimes disappearing for months at a time.
If Garnet hadn't loved him quite so much, she would have insisted he stayed with her. But the moment she saw that adventurous look enter his aqua eyes, she couldn't dream of holding him back. Hearing his tales about his adventures, about where he had been, about the strange people he had met, that was enough for Garnet for now. She could see the world through his eyes, even if she was no longer allowed to explore it with her own.
Eighteen years old and strikingly beautiful, Garnet had filled out a little since her early teenage years. Her hips flared out from her narrow waist, and her modest breasts filled a top nicely. Her rear was rounded for a thin girl, though it was hidden for the greater part of the time underneath the dresses she was required to wear as Queen. She was still on the thin side, too thin, Doctor Tot often lamented, but it was growing increasingly hard to keep her trim figure when she had nothing to do around the castle. Her days were spent in the library, reading up everything that she could, surfacing occasionally for meals.
But lately, all of that sitting around was taking it's toll on her figure.
