Follow Jeffrey at the Inn

"Another round of ale for me and my friends!" called the big burly adventurer. "Big ones!"

"Coming right up," Jeffrey yelled back, as he grabbed the big tankards. He looked at Erole. It had been a rough few days. "Is it like this all the time?"

"Been extra busy, what with the dragon bringing out all the slayers and mercenaries trying to make a name for themselves," Erole said, as he filled some of the tankards. "Reports of a monster terrorizing folks spread real quick, and these people want to make money by killing it."

"But, the dragon's dead, right?" Jeffrey asked, nervous for once, for his brother, who was still searching the forest for a place to stay at. "I mean, that slayer killed it the other day."

"That don't mean that these guys heard it, and they need food and supplies anyways," said Erole. "That being said, they've been asking questions."

"What kinds of questions?" Jeffrey asked.

"Things like what was the slayer wearing, how did he do the deed, what did he look like, what did the dragon look like, how big was the dragon, where did they head towards, and that sort of stuff," said Erole. "I guess they want to buy him a round for saving us if they find him."

"I guess that makes sense," said Jeffrey. He looked towards another table, where another group sat, more quietly than the rest. All of them wore cloaks that hid their features. "What about them? They haven't said anything."

"I've noticed," said Erole. "But, they've been doing plenty of asking, just a lot more quietly."

"Why are they dressed that way?" Jeffrey asked.

"Different groups dress differently," said Erole. "Those outfits might have enchantments of protection. They like their food, that's for sure, and a few of them are big eaters. Three good-sized pigs that table has eaten, among other things. They pay well though."

"Alright," said Jeffery as he picked up the tray of tankards. "I'd better get this taken care of."
