The dragon child ran as fast as he could before something bad could happen to the girl crying for help. He eventually made it to the spot where she was. The horse had run off, a knight was on the ground unconscious and a girl was helplessly screaming as two men with knives approached her. The dragon child had the body of a five year old dragon so he was about the same height as the men, but there were two of them with knives. He didn't want to fight them or jump out and scare them, because they might be able to take him.
The dragon child looked around to figure out another solution. He saw a rocky cliff. The position of the sun was casting shadows on the rocky surface and the dragon had an idea.

"Please, don't do this," the princess begged, "You can just take the money that we're carying."
"That's a good idea," one of the thugs said, "We can take your money and you for a ransom."
The situation seemed hopeless for Gwen. Suddenly, the was a loud growl. The men looked in the direction and saw the shadow of a large and terrifing dragon. The men ran away, forgetting about the princess. Gwen grew frightened as well. Just when she thought that the day couldn't get any worse, a dragon was going to eat her now. She currled up in a ball. She hoped that the dragon would just leave her alone.

Once the dragon kenw that the men were gone, he stepped out into the clearing. He saw the girl was currled in a ball and shaking with fear. He didn't mean to scare her, but it was necessary to scare the men. The dragon approached the girl and asked, "Are you alright?"
Gwen peeked out and saw the dragon right in front of her. She was confused by the fact that the dragon wasn't that much taller than a man, and that it could speak. Gwen then begged, "Don't eat me, dragon. I don't taste that good."
"Calm down, I'm not going to eat you," the dragon told her.
Gwen was a little relieved that the dragon wasn't going to eat her, and that the dragon sounded like he was around her age. However, she was still fightened by the powerfull beast in front of her, and she asked, "Then, what do you want with me?"
"I need your help," the dragon in formed her, "I'm only half-dragon. The other half is human, and my father left me. I don't know what to do."
"You did save my life," Gwen replied, "I guess I should help you, but how?
