Chapter #4
Money Matters
by: Unknown
Dan resisted the urge to laugh. Out of all the things to talk about people chose to gossip over his eating habits. How trivial could people be?
Dan had taken up a job, despite being rich, since his parents didn't spoil him entirely and made him pay for several things himself. He paid for his own gas, any games he wanted, the more expensive garments such as his athletes shoes, and the amount he had for food was set to only about ten dollars a week for lunch and a small breakfast and dinner at home. In fact if his parents hadn't bought his car most people would have thought he was poor without seeing his house, which also wasn't extravagant.
Dan earned nearly seven dollars an hour by now and put thirty percent of each dollar into a savings account. The next thirty percent went into gas money, followed by the next ten which went into a seperate pile to be spent on games later. Another twenty went into gifts and dinners with his girlfriend Samantha. The rest of the money, only ten percent, went into extra food at lunch and a snack to go along with his dinner. That ten percent, very little when put into perspective had brought this rumour down on his head.
Dan hurried to get through the crowded halls and on with his simple life.
