"Now isn't the time to be thinking of fornication or of running off. I've spent this long tracking these vermin, and I will complete my task." Starglint muttered to himself, making his way along the trail he had been tracking for so long. Many a trail turned into dead ends, but as of late this band of bandits have been slipping up, and making more mistakes. They have caught wind of someone looking for them and they've been moving more swiftly, but a fleeting prey is easier to spot than one standing still.
Starglint smiled, seeing a cave in the heart of Mossflower wood. A few weasel guards are on patrol, with bardiches resting on their shoulders, several more rats and other vermin inside the patrol line, all around the mouth of the cave. He wasn't sure how many were inside, or how cavernous the underworld would be in there.
Slowly he drew his bastard sword, Efreeti, from its backsheath, getting the weapon at the ready. The warrior took some time to consider his plan of attack, not wanting to blow this chance after so long in its conception. A full on attack might be possible at this moment, while they were on their own ground, they did not seem quite prepared as most of the guards were remaining inattentive. He might have been downwind from the bandits, but a massive, black and white badger is not easy to miss.
Starglint could also wait until nightfall, when most of the prey would be asleep. Slightly more cowardly in combat, however, considering the numbers, might be smarter to fight such large odds.
Finally, Starglint considered leaving now, and returning with a larger task force. While it might end up losing the trail of the bandits, but, the cave might be a base of operations, and still be around when he gets back.
