As the sun shined down through her slightly parted window, Konata slowly rolled up into a sitting position, stretching her pudgy arms into the air as her chubby fists were balled up into themselves, her mouth open wide as her extensive yawn crawled out from her open lips into the air. She rubbed the sleep away from her slightly parted eyes as she approached the mirror, lumbering over, her slight layer of blubber trembling.
As she looked in the mirror before her, Konata realized, in a second, she really hadn't gained a lot from one quick snack. Sure, she was now somewhat chubby, but she didn't look nearly as spherical as she had imagined she would. Her pants tightly dug into her belly, despite it being mere underwear. She played with her stomach in her pudgy fingered hands, her fingers slightly thicker than usual, her breasts (she had breasts now?) poking through her shirt. As she searched for clothing to fit her, noticing with surprise, and mild pleasure, that her uniforms were tightly pulled against her skin, she appreciated all the nuances of her new body type. There was a certain tremble, a certain quiver, to her flesh that hadn't existed before. At the present time, she wasn't sure whether this development as a good or bad thing. All she knew was that it was here, present, and, for all intents and purposes, interesting.
She went down to breakfast, noticing that her father had his lolicon eyes focused on her cousin Yukata. That was something of a relief: it made Konata explaining her new found weight less awkward. She ate a relatively small breakfast as not to bring too much attention to her wider hips or rounder face. She hurried off to the train, only to run into, upon arrival, both Kagami and Tsukasa. Thankfully, as it was winter, Konata's flab was hidden under a jacket.
It made the reveal all the more dramatic at school.
"Alright, what's up?" Kagami asked, her eyes narrowed suspiciously.
"What?" Konata asked, smirking in an unassuming manor.
"Look, we know your little game by now," Kagami replied.
"We do?" Tsukasa asked, confused, clearly frantically asking herself if she was truly as oblivious as they all said she was.
"Whenever you have that look on your face you're planning on doin' somethin' strange! So just say it already! Let us know. You didn't get arrested for lookin' up some weird hentai, did you?"
"No, not exactly," replied Konata, lazily as usual, "Just found something out."
"Found what out? Huh?!" Kagami inquired, drawing nearer as the trio entered the train. "Wait, ya know what, don't answer that. Probably some anime thing."
"Nope, not at all."
"Really?"
"Yup."
"Not related to it in the least?"
"Well, anime watching might of contributed to this development, but I don't think it's directly responsible, so..."
"Well, what is--?"
"Hey, Konata, did you gain weight?" Tsukasa asked.
There was a moment of silence as the two other girls stared at the usually oblivious one. Tsukasa's face filled with blush as she lowered her head in shame, her eyes averted from the others. Kagami sighed at this, "Usually I'd say that's bad manors, but when it comes to Konata, you don't need to be bashful seein' as she has no qualms asking the same about you."
"But that was the big secret," Konata mumbled.
"It was WHAT?!" Kagami rounded on Konata, an astonished, horrified expression in her eyes.
"Yeah, but now that she spoiled it, now all that build-up I planned on makin', all the excitement, it's all gone. Kaput...ah well..." Konata frowned.
"I'm sorry!" Tsukasa stammered, lowering her head deeper in shame as her face grew redder.
"Don't apologize! She's the freak here!" Kagami stammered.
"Now, Kagami, don't get so flustered. Ya know you wanna join me," Konata replied, pressing her now present breasts up against Kagami's shoulder.
"No I don't--since when do you have boobs, anyway!?"
"Since I started drinking a few too many energy drinks is all," Konata replied.
"Well, at least you got lemonade out of lemons..." Kagami mumbled.
"How about we make a lemon out of this train ride, hmmm?" Konata hummed.
"Tough luck, otaku!" Kagami grunted, her eyes narrowed.
