Derek barked several times at Stacey, annoyed by his treating him like a dog (even though he was one). Instead of being upset, though, Stacey took out a leach from her pocket and clipped it to the boy's collar.
What was she doing with a dog collar in her pocket? a confused Derek wondered as Stacey smiled at him.
"Come on, Derek! Let's go for a walk before the janitor finds us!" she quickly told her new "pet" as she ran out of the school, grabbing both her books and Derek's. The two ran for what had to be at least 200 feet before finally stopping, now in the middle of a grass clearing. Derek, who was not used to running for so long, panted quite a bit on the ground next to Stacey.
"That was close", panted Stacey as she took out a water bottle from her school bag. She drank down about one-third of the contents before placing the bottle in front of Derek's face.
"Here, Derek!" the girl chirped as she poured the water on his face, the thirsty "dog" drinking it down like it was his last water he would ever have. After he was done drinking it, Stacey sat on the ground besides him, petting Derek with her right hand as she looked at the pretty afternoon sky.
"I'm sorry about earlier. But I'll promise to be much nicer to you until you turn back into my boyfriend again!"
Derek believed every word of his girlfriend. She might be a bit of an oddball, but she was always honest.
"Since you can't go back home today, why not come to my house, Derek?"
"Woof!" a happy Derek barked in reply, licking Stacey's hand.
"Thank you!" she replied as she hugged the "bulldog".
