As Kody followed his best friend to his bedroom, he started to feel weird again.
"Are you okay, bro?" Eddy said when he noticed that Kody wasn't feeling well.
"Oh yes, don't worry. Well... Which game we should play?" Kody said trying to hide his dizziness.
Eddy and Kody talked a bit, then they chose one of their best videogames. Eddy turned on his videoconsole and sat on his bed next to Kody, who already picked up his gamepad. Both kids started playing, Kody tried to bear the cold that now was starting to feel on his feet and legs.
Kody finally sneezed and, when he opened his eyes, he saw something strange. His legs were different!
"Ed... Eddy... take a l... look... at..." he said scared pointing to his legs. His best friend looked at Kody's legs. He could not believe what he was seeing.
Kody's legs were not human anymore. His human skin was gone. Now his legs seemed to be made of ice. He tried to move them, and fortunately he was still able to move like any human. He quickly took off his shoes and socks and discovered that his feet were already made of ice.
"Dude... You are getting frozen!" Eddy said worried. "What are we going to do!?"
"I don't feel cold anymore, at least. In fact, I'm feeling very good now." Kody said. It was true, now Kody was feeling better than ever, and his freezing body wasn't worrying him.
"What are you talking about!? We should call your mom!" Eddy said and ran to the door.
Without knowing how, Kody pointed to the door and a strange ray came out from his finger. When the ray touched the door, it instantly froze! Eddy became amazed, he tried to open the door but it was stuck there.
"How... How did you do that!?" Eddy asked.
"I don't know!"
As Kody finished talking, he felt a strange tingling all throughtout his body. He looked down and noticed that the rest of his body was freezing too. The new ice-skin was taking over all his body slowly. Eddy stayed quiet while he looked how his best friend was becoming an ice-boy!
When the transformation was almost finished, Kody's hair disappeared going inside his body turning him into a bald boy.
"I... I think it stopped..." Kody said and started to look at his new body. He touched and rubbed his new frozen arms and legs. Every part of his body was now made by a crystal blue and white ice. He was even a bit transparent. Eddy could see his reflection on his best friend's bald head! Kody's eyes were totally plain, he had no pupils nor corneas, but he was still able to see.
"Kody. Can... Can you hear me?" Eddy said nervously.
"Yes..."
"You totally rock, dude!" he said smiling.
"Why?" Kody wondered. His best friend didn't look scared anymore, now he was happy.
"I don't know what happened to you. But it's obvious that if you froze the door with your hand, you're a superhero or something like that! You have superpowers! You have the power of ice!" he said. But Kody didn't seem to like that.
"Why are you so serious?" Eddy asked his best friend.
"I'm a monster." Kody feel ashamed.
"Of course not! You always will be my best friend, no matter if you are an iceboy, a flameboy, a stoneboy or whatever!"
Both talked for some minutes and finally Kody accepted his fate. After that, he started to practice his new superpowers. He was able to freeze anything he wanted shooting his ice ray from his fingers. He was even able to freeze the air, he could make ice roads on the air and skate at superspeed over them. Eddy loved to see his best friend so changed.
Finally, Kody decided to take off all his clothes except his briefs. Then he touched them and froze them. He seemed to be naked because he was not wearing any human clothes, but the ice-briefs now were part of his ice-body and they protected his dignity.
He continued and discovered that now he was able to return back to his human form again! After some practising, he could switch between the human body and the ice body easily.
"There is a thing that I still don't like..." Kody said.
"What is it?" Eddy asked.
"Dude... I'm bald!" Kody said ashamed, but his best friend laughed.
After playing for some hours, both kids decided to continue playing their videogame. Kody stayed on his ice form, because Eddy enjoyed seeing him like that. He knew that now his best friend was a superhero, and he felt protected being next to he ice-boy!
"Huh... I should go back home. Mom must be there already." Kody said when he noticed that it was too late.
"What are you going to do?"
"Don't ask me why, but I feel that I must tell the truth to mom."
"Good luck, bro. Please tell me as soon as possible how went the conversation with your mother." Eddy said and hugged his best friend. Kody controlled his temperature so he could hug Eddy without freezing him.
"See you later!" Kody said. He took his clothes, made an ice bridge between Eddy's bedroom and his own bedroom, and walked over there. When he arrived to his window, he made disappear all the ice in the air. Eddy watched amazed everything from his window.
"Ok. Let's go..." Kody said.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
