(you or Misako) by: NVR   After running an antivirus check on the computer and getting the negative results, you made a mental note to consult with Jessica what the hell did just happen. Part of it looked like a game that was starting and just exited itself before the introduction, but something in that face that showed up was just scary. This was a work computer, you had no program at all that should be drawing faces on the screen.

On the streets, the smartphone on Misako's purse seemingly activated itself showing the same message about identifying a portable data unit before emitting a bright light that knocked Misako out of balance.
"Misako!" her partner shouted as he saw how she lost her balance in the weirdest of ways, as if something exploded inside of her purse and sent her flying to hit her head against the wall. Neither Kayo or anyone else could notice the bright light from inside the purse, so all Kayo could do was to call the ambulance to take care of his friend and call Misako's roommate to inform her of the situation

"Who.. Who am I?" Misako asked in a neutral voice when she woke up which made the nurse call the doctor immediately. Apparently the hit on her head resulted in a severe case of retrograde amnesia, to the point she no longer remembered anything about herself whatsoever. What surprised the doctor though was how Misako didn't seem scared about it and how after a quick evaluation of skills Misako performed admirably, it seemed the amnesia only targeted her memories specifically, it was quite weird

"Are you Misako's roommate?" The doctor asked
"Yes sir, I'm Jane Moore" the small blonde replied, with a concerned expression on her face. She knew Misako was an exchange student so without her family around she needed to take care of her, it's what she would do if the roles were reversed.
"It seems that Misako has some severe form of amnesia, she doesn't remember who she is or where she is at the moment so you will need to guide her until she recovers her memories" The doctor stated, with a puzzled tone that was impossible to hide
"So you won't be able to help her? Is there.. something else?"
"Yes, there is. Normally the patient would require some occupational therapy as they train their memory and retain some skills but in this case.. it seems she didn't lost any skill whatsoever, it's just her personal memories she seemed to lose. Don't worry, it should be something temporal and going back to what she knows as normal life might help her regain her memories"
"Oh.. I understand" Jane nodded. She could do that and hopefully Misako would be ok soon, it would suck to miss your holiday time just trying to remember who you are
"I want to ask something. Was Misako a good student or particularly skilled in maths or logic?" The doctor asked
"Huh? not at all, she actually has barely passing grades on the university. Why?" Jane said, surprised by the strange question
"Hmm.. it seems she performed admirably on the tests we run, so if she wasn't good at this the situation is quite unusual" the doctor admitted and Jane couldn't give credit to what he was saying. Misako acing a math test? that sounded surreal.
"Anyway, we will remain in contact and you can schedule a checkup in the next couple of weeks to see how she evolves. As I understand her parents are in another country so please take care of her" the doctor said before leaving
Jane thanked her and sighed, thinking about how she couldn't afford to mess this up and give wrong memories to her friend. Before retrieving her friend she got her belongings from the hospital and was surprised to see her phone out of battery, but other than that she saw nothing strange on them
