The kids found the medallion first

Andrew and Tina were finishing the dishes while Mom and dad discussed the mail. Andrew, slacking a bit as he usually did, was eavesdropping near the door. "Hey Tina, you're not gonna believe this." he quietly called to his sister. "If you would actually help instead of skulking by the door, that would be unbelievable." she replied. "Ha, ha. Very funny sis. I'm not kidding. Mom's friend Patty sent her a medallion that is supposed to change people into someone else. Isn't that so cool?" Andrew enthused. Tina just shook her head as she dried her hands, "Sounds like a bunch of bull to me. Besides, why would you want to be someone else?" Andrew looked a little disheartened as he mumbled, "Well not everyone is 'Daddy's Little Girl' like you. Some of us would like a change." And with that, Andrew wandered into the living room. "How strange.", Tina muttered to herself.

Heading into the living room, Andrew noticed that his parents seemed to have gone to bed. As usual, mom had left the mail on the table next to her favorite chair. Picking up the medallion, he thought about who he would like to become if it actually worked. Someone in his family would be the easiest. If he tried it on Tina, he could be dad's favorite for awhile. On the other hand, he could try being older by trying it on one of his parents. Lastly he could try being a kid again by using it on Brad or Kimmy. Putting the medallion around his neck he decided to be......
