She made him stay to heal for his own good.

Drago looked sadly at the boy. "I will not eat you my dear." She shook her head unable to believe that he would even suggest such a thing. "I don't eat human. It's wrong, I can assure you that only animals go in my tummy." She forced him to lay down trying hard to hold back her tears. why couldn't they all just believe she wasn't mean. She had been kicked out of her home and now even a human she had saved twice will not believe she is not going to eat him. How disgusting that would be.
"Stay here til morning. I think by then it will be safe." His eyes dart to her, but not for long. Her heart was in shatters, but he didn't even care.
"Thank you." He muttered so she wouldn't hear. But she is a dragon and so his attempts failed. Making her way outside she waited for her next adventure. Just wishing she wouldn't meet another human along the way.
