my name was elly. it was a long three weeks of test after test. i considered telling them who i really was, but decided against it in the long run. i was already getting psychiatric tests for memory loss, why should i have increased it because i was crazy. then i considered that, maybe i really was crazy. and that was what i had to find out. on the day i was finally scheduled to leave the hospital my "mother" came in with a duffle bag full of clothes. i opened it up and found a knee length pink dress. i could not bring myself to wear it, so i dug around and pulled out a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, unfortunately i also pulled out really girly underpants and a training bra. i put it on, it was not as uncomfortable as i believed it would be, but still the training bra didn't feel right. so i left the hospital with my "mother". she was a single mother of 1, me. she had a fairly well paying job as a secretary to a locale business owner and made much less than i did as an adult. i went to "my" room and told my mother that i needed some time alone. i entered the bedroom pointed out to me and discovered a very girly pink and purple room with a small twin sized bed and pictures of Hannah Montana on the wall. and with luck there happened to be a computer in the room. it was an older computer, but i looked in the back of the tower and found a phone line. it had dial up. so after i dialed up i googled the name jonathon dover. and i found my obituary. it was real. i wasn't crazy.
