Chapter #5

Make your way to that city you saw

    by: Unknown
While it's meaningless fun, stomping on these scattered bugs as they try in vain to escape the worn soles of your sneakers, you reckon it would be more fun once you reach the city a few steps over. Grinning to yourself, you begin to make your way towards the densely populated area. Each step is cataclysmic for the people below, and you purposely aim your steps to grind as many of the people underfoot as possible. It's amazing to think how quickly you have dehumanised these people, crushing them purely because you can. You have to admit, there's probably quite a bit wrong with you to take such joy out of this, a definite streak of sadism within your psyche. It's one thing to mindlessly step on bugs underfoot, simply being the way of nature, for the bigger animals to tread on the weaker, smaller ones. But here, you know these people are intelligent like yourself. Hell, you even have one trapped in your ear canal, whose faint cries and sobs can be just about heard. So to casually, no purposely desire to cause as much havoc as possible...well, you're certainly one cruel bastard!

Despite that admission, you can't help but revel in it. Fuck it, these people were like ants to you. The fact that you can so easily crush their paltry machinery and infrastructure is just a further testament to your greatness. Your ego swells to think that on the galactic scale, you were one of the top beings in the multitude of dimensions or universes that have seemingly opened up to you, purely on account of your overwhelming size. Your judgement is swift, not even bothering to hear the dying screams of your victims as entire families are swallowed beneath the darkness of your descending sneaker, aware that these are their last moments until they are instantaneously compacted beneath your foot, becoming just another bloody patch on the sole of your shoe, staining the broken pieces of rubble that were once mighty buildings and the smashed twigs that were towering trees. All these images flow through your mind as you continue your way to the city, as if you were walking across a map. Unbeknownst to you, you've already killed scores of refugees, who had hoped in vain to escape to the confines of the city upon your sudden arrival, only to be met with your uncaring foot dropping down from the heavens on their traffic-laden roads.

For a moment, you focus on your little prisoner, hearing some chirping, faint though it is. Focusing you make out the words "...killing people, please stop, you'll hurt my family...". It seems Amelia is begging you to halt your destructive approach, lest you harm the poor helpless inhabitants of her city. Thinking back, you have a little chuckle. Trapped in your ear canal, there's no way she could have seen you casually obliterate what you assume was her family, the group of people you plucked her from, when you were initially questioning her. "What an idiot", you think to yourself.

"Oh, I almost forgot about you in there. I was having so much fun walking atop the scenery out here", you gloat to her. "You bugs really haven't got the best construction standards, everything seems to just collapse from a little step".

"Please, don't do this. If you just leave now, we'll never bother you, never even speak of your arrival", Amelia replied, seemingly through some sobs, from what you can hear. "Please, I told you what you wanted to know, please just let me back to my family".

"Sorry, no can do. A god like me really doesn't need to take orders from someone who I could crush with my pinky. Besides, I'm pretty sure your family are comfortable, forming a nice pattern of bloody smears on the bottom of my shoes", you reply, with particular emphasis on the last part. Immediately you can hear Amelia cry out, stricken with tears at the thought of her family's fate. "Anyways, you should consider yourself lucky. I'm thinking of making you my second in command when I take over this place. You'll get to enjoy all the benefits as my mini queen. That is, if you keep your pretty trap shut, and do whatever the fuck you're told. Sound good?".

Leaving your tiny prisoner to mull over your words, you realise you have arrived on the outskirts of the city. Buildings no taller than your waist greet your towering form, as you loom over the metropolis with a callous expression. Well, on to some city crushing!

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Begin your assault on the city

*Noteb*
2. Another dimension's version of you appears, one who is heroic

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
