Slash and slice. Slash and slice. The young lord Eliwood was practicing his sword skills under the observant eye of Marcus, the experienced Paladin. Unfortunately, the session mostly consisted of Marcus scolding Eliwood on his poor skills and form. It had only been a week since he left in search for his father and already it had seemed like he had been doing this for years, with Marcus consistently picking out his mistakes in swordfighting.
'Alright, that will be enough for today." Marcus sighed and began walking off towards the direction of his tent. "But you must practice more Lord Eliwood. Surely you want to be strong enough to survive by yourself out there."
Eliwood turned bright red. "Of course Marcus. You have my word for it."
He turned away from Marcus and began a fury of slashes and swings with his rapier. He was so focused on his movements that he didn't notice that Erk the mage had silently slipped up.
"You look like if you were fighting for your life my world." Erk spoke seriously. "Almost as if Serra was after you."
At that Eliwood stopped and forced himself to stifle some laughter. "Oh come now. Serra isn't that bad."
"You have no idea." Erk replied. "But we should get to the point. I came to ask you on your opinion on this new spell I've been working on. It's a blend of the dark spell Luna and my own personal favorite - Elfire. I'm sure it will be much use to our army when it is done."
Eliwood leaned in to look at the tome Erk held up. It was covered with scribbles and notes, none of which made any sense to him.
"Ah..mi..fa do si cualasa..." Eliwood read out loud.
"HEY!" Erk quickly snatched the book back. "I'm very sorry my lord but that spell is unfinished. If it's cast then unexpected -"
At that moment a burst of golden light shot out from the tome and into the air silencing both of the two. It was blinding and it seemed to be aiming at something. No wait! It was aiming at someone! The light shot down at the two and the air was filled with light that was whiter than snow. When it all cleared, Eliwood realized...
