Chapter #2A Chronicler's Memories by: Bmao Ignitus, once the Master of Fire, had mixed feelings toward becoming the new Chronicler.
On one claw, he was greatful beyond all measure of Spyro and Cynder's actions. Malefor had been at long last, completely defeated!! The world was now, evidentally, at peace. That wasn't to say that all evil and all darkness was eraticated, or that there would never be trouble again, however, there would never be another threat such as the one the Dark Master had posed over the world.
As he always did, he watched over Spyro. He felt... overwhelming pride in his heart, but also a measure of regret, because admittedly there was so much he still wanted to share with Spyro, things he had wanted to do together that they couldn't while Malefor was still on the loose, but now he couldn't. For all intensive purposes, Spyro believed Ignitus dead.
That was fine for Ignitus... So long as Spyro was happy, so was Ignitus. Of course, the presence of Cynder undoubtedly contributed to that happiness; since that day Spyro had freed her from the Dark Master's curse he'd known in his heart that they'd end up together. Yet once again, watching Spyro, so happy with her, also made him feel a measure of regret. Ignitus had once known that wonderful feeling that Spyro had now; it was a pain that Ignitus had held in his shattered heart ever since that day... so long ago when Gaul had attacked the old Dragon Temple. It had not gone away even now as the Chronicler; it only meant now his pain was all but eternal...
He'd thought now that he was Chronicler, he would know of what exactly what had happened to her; if she was dead or alive... Yet when he pulled the book with her name... it was blank... It didn't say alive or dead, but a blank, somewhere in the limbo between life and death. It was one of the few loose ends; the fate of his once beloved mate, that still bothered him to this day...
Ignitus sighed...
"Dear Katarra.... now, even now... I still don't know what became of you... I suppose on that day way back when, you became something similar to what I am now... a being, neither living nor dead... Yet I still have the memories.... memories which can never be erased... I met you at the fair in Warfang remember?" indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
