"I need an assistant in a test I am doing, and you are my most trusted student," Miss Blake says, a tone of respect for you in her voice. Feeling a sense of accomplishment welling up within you, you smile and nod agreeably, waiting for her next direction. Your teacher returns to smile, a somewhat suspicious grin, but you ignore it through your joy and follow her into a room adjacent to this one. After all, how bad could it be to be let on to such a tempting secret? The possibilities run through your mind like a child yearning to know what presents they'll get for Christmas that year.
As you pass through the doorway, and awe-inducing sight follows. A shimmering, sterile-white room comes into view, and it's absolutely filled with odd scenery. Miss Blake closes the metallic door behind the two of you and gestures at the expanse, the same smile plastered on her face while your jaw hangs open. "This is where I've been working on my most recent project, the one that I'll need your help in experimenting with," she explains, walking over to an oddly-shaped table with a small object about the size of an average TV remote. "Take a look."
Your curiosity is skyrocketing now as you examine the modern-looking device. But what could it's purpose be anyway?
"This, my young friend, is the first known prototype size regulator. In essence and accoridng to what I believe it can do, it will be able to either shrink or grow an object. Mostly I've focused on the shrinking aspect, for its practical uses. This is where you come in," she continues, picking up the size regulator with a dainty hand. You can't help but gawk at it, still feeling quite important that you were one of the first to lay eyes on this scientific marvel.
