This choice: Francine finds someone else to try Steve out • Go Back...Chapter #9Francine finds someone else to try Steve out by: Chaos Magnet   With dollar signs floating around her mind, Francine boldly moved forward with her get-rich-quick scheme. However, there was one thing she had to be sure of before she could proceed, and that was if Steve could do a good enough job with women to keep them coming back for more. She could test him out for herself, but she needed an unbiased opinion, and Hayley was too much of a hippie to trust as she would probably get all human rights violations on her. No, she needed someone who had no reason to lie to her or interfere with her plan.
Of course, family came to mind first, and Francine's sister, Gwen, had some experience dealing with these... less than savory businesses. She could be helpful in setting those deals up, if only due to her spotty record. They were sisters, and who else could you trust if not family? Francine could rely on the feedback to be straightforward. There was always the chance that Gwen would steal her shrunken son away for her own, but it was a risk Francine would have to take if she was to get her input.
Then there was her good friend and neighbor that she could depend on, Linda Memari. The woman was always so helpful, and had even saved Francine's life once, back when the Smith mother had been enamored with the Ladybugs organization and had lied to gain membership. If not for Linda, she would have been crushed to death by a row of shopping carts and wouldn't have had this opportunity. In fact, the woman had always seemed to care deeply for her, and chances are she wouldn't betray her trust as Gwen would. However, because of that deep friendship, Linda may not give the most honest feedback for fear of crushing Francine's dreams.
Then there was the younger market to consider. Perhaps one of the girls from Steve's school would provide good word of mouth about her little venture (Francine giggled at her pun). She was sure her son would appreciate that as well, since so many girls there had once been the fixation of his crushes, not to mention nightly J.O. sessions. Lisa Silver had long been a fantasy of his, and the girl was popular, so she could really get the girls at school stoked on the service. Then there was Akiko Yoshida, the sister of Steve's best friend, but, more importantly, the daughter of a locally famous entrepreneur that could provide some start-up money. Steve's old girlfriend, Debbie, could also be helpful, and someone she could trust not to harm him, even if their breakup wasn't on the best terms.
So many possibilities to choose from, and not much room for error. Eventually, Francine came to the conclusion that her best bet was to go with...  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
