Molly Blyndeff was an anomaly. At 12 years old, she stood at only 4'7. Now, you might think that was normal, but consider that her mother was a giant. Giants are an all-female race that has dominated the planet since time immemorial. Today, humans are treated as pampered pets and, at worst, seen as mere property. Since giants are only female, they need human males to impregnate them. This is where Molly comes in. When a giant becomes pregnant, she will only ever give birth to a giant baby. Because of this, the nuclear household in society is generally a pair of giant wives and at least two human spouses, not counting the children.
When Calliope, Molly's mother, started showing all the signs of pregnancy without an expanding stomach, she visited the doctor. She was shocked to find that she was pregnant with a human baby. After Molly was born, scientists offered Calliope lots of money to give up the baby, but she refused. It didn't matter if the baby was human. She was the giant's flesh and blood, her daughter. However, since Molly was the first recorded case of a human born to a giant, things got a bit tricky regarding the law. All humans had to have an owner, and while Calliope was legally recognized as Molly's mother, because of technicalities, she couldn't own her daughter. The only spouse Calliope had was her pet husband, Martin, so she didn't have a wife her size to fill that slot. After some thinking, it was decided that her oldest daughter, Lorelai, would be Molly's owner. Coincidentally, Lorelai's birthday was a week before Molly's. Traditionally, a giant wouldn't get a human until she was at least 13, but there wasn't any law limiting age. So at 6 years old, Lorelai Blyndeff got a birthday present in the form of a little sister and a pet.
While Calliope was the one who took care of Molly, she made sure to teach Lorelai about owning humans to prepare her for when she was older. On top of being a mother, Calliope owned the Blyndeff Toy Emporium. She handled all the business parts while Martin made toys for humans. Since only a few places did that, sales were excellent, but a fire burnt down the original location and took Martin's life two years ago. Luckily, with their friend Flo's help, the Blyndeffs relocated to another part of the city. Unfortunately, the Toy Emporium switched from selling Martin's handmade human toys to name-brand stuff. It somewhat hurt sales, but the Blyndeffs managed to endure.
"Wake up, girls. It's time for breakfast," Calliope announced from the other side of the door as she knocked.
"Eugh, fiiine," 18-year-old Lorelai groggily groaned as she sat up with bedhead. Most of her hair was the color of burnt caramel, but she had a trio of honeycomb locks that somewhat resembled rabbit ears. Most believed the blonde parts of Lorelai's hair were merely highlights, but they were utterly natural, courtesy of Martin. She had rainbow-colored freckles and green eyes, with a trio of dots forming an upside-down triangle. Lorelai looked down at her large breasts. "Molly, you awake?" No response. "Cuz if not, you're eating breakfast in my belly," the older sister threatened.
"Oh, isn't this such a wonderful morning, big sister, now that you've graduated high school!?" Molly greeted with over-the-top fake enthusiasm as she poked out of Lorelai's boobs and looked up at the older Blyndeff. Lorelai graduated only yesterday and got home late from partying. Molly had hidden in her big sister's chest the whole time to muffle the sound. Even with the size difference, it was clear Molly and Lorelai were related. They had the same shade of brown skin. Molly was also a brunette, but instead of having blonde parts, she had several marshmallowy stars that naturally grew in her hair, courtesy of Martin, who had stars in his beard. In addition, Molly had green eyes with a quartet of dots resembling buttons.
The threat of getting eaten by her big sister wasn't as horrible as it might sound. Giants had full control of their digestive system, so it was common for a giant to eat humans and keep them safe in their stomachs. Giants found humans absolutely delicious. Many giants send blood samples to human farms to select the most compatible pets. Sure, all humans are tasty, but it's different when it's your human. This was how Calliope and Martin met. Coincidentally, on top of being born human, Molly also ended up being Lorelai's human. This was accepted as a stroke of luck, and no one bothered questioning it.
"You must have had quite the dream last night. You were playing with my nipple for a while. Kinda made it hard to sleep," Lorelai suggestively said as she bounced her eyebrows. She extracted Molly from her chest and set her on the nightstand so the girl could access her tiny dresser to change clothes.
"I dreamt that I was playing with a bear," Molly mumbled with a blush as she slipped on her signature bear hoodie that Calliope hand-stitched for her.
"That's not surprising," Lorelai chuckled as she dressed nearby, donning a cream-colored top and purple shorts. Once done, she picked up her pet sister and gave the cutie a quick lick. "Delicious as always, little sis," she complimented with a moan and set Molly back in her warm and cozy bosom.
The siblings entered the kitchen, and Lorelai sat down. Her mother immediately gave her a stack of funfetti waffles drizzled in syrup. "Sorry, girls. I'd love to eat with you, but I need to open up the store," Calliope apologized as she started walking away. Calliope was tall with dark brown, almost black hair, which had a noticeable streak of gray.
"Hey, Mom. Could I talk to you a bit about something important first?" Lorelai shyly asked. Her tone called her mother to sit at the kitchen table across from her daughter.
"Of course, Bun. What is it?" Calliope asked, her expression appearing serious. However, the Blyndeff matriarch was the sort of person whose face barely had one degree of separation between a smile and a frown, and only the people close to her could tell the difference. Lorelai could tell that Calliope had a look of motherly concern.
"Well, now that I'm a high school graduate, I thought I could work at the toy store." Lorelai's tone was cautious as she approached the topic.
"Lori, we've talked about this. You shouldn't have to work in the toy store. Instead, you should be going to college to become a movie director," Calliope responded as she clasped her hands together.
Lorelai bit her lip. Becoming a director was her dream job. She had always been a natural storyteller and had a passion for it. So when Calliope first learned Lorelai wanted to make movies, she helped chart the best possible course to get on that path.
"I still want to do that, but I also know you'll go insane without Molly and me. After Dad died, you refused any time I asked to help with the store because you wanted me to focus on school. I'm done with school, so please let me help. You deserve a chance to rest. Honestly, it's a miracle that your hair hasn't turned totally gray from stress."
"I don't want you to give up on your dreams because of me, Lorelai. You should be living your best life for both my sake and Molly's."
The tiny girl couldn't help but whine. Like Lorelai, Calliope tried to plan the best path for Molly, but the deck was stacked against her. Even if she was Calliope's flesh and blood, her size meant Molly didn't have many rights, her career options were minimal, and none appealed to the littlest Blyndeff. So, she ended up settling for being the greatest pet sister for Lorelai she could be.
"Mom, this isn't me giving up. It's just to pass the time while I wait for letters of acceptance. You deserve to rest and take it easy for once in your life," Lorelai insisted at her mother's neutral expression.
"I'll consider it. But right now, I need to open the store. I love you both. Have a good day." Calliope got up from her seat, kissed Lorelai on the forehead, then leaned down to kiss Molly's head. Then, the Blyndeff matriarch went downstairs to open the store.
"She's not going to consider it, is she?" Molly blurted.
"Probably not," Lorelai confirmed with a sigh as she set Molly on the plate next to the waffles.
"What are we gonna do after breakfast, Lori?" Molly asked as she looked up at her older sister.
Lorelai hummed as she pondered the question. She could, of course, go back to her room and play with Molly. Her sister definitely deserved something nice since she was dragged to yesterday's party. Molly hated loud noises and often used Lorelai's body to avoid them. Though hanging out with her friends was another option. Lorelai could call her best friend, Jo, and hang out one-on-one with her or get the whole gang together. Or perhaps she could head downstairs and hang out with her mom while she ran the store. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
