Chapter #5

a park

    by: scriptboy Author IconMail Icon
Wolf ran as fast as he could from the thugs who tried to attack him and rob him in the deserted alley, and ended up at the public park, which was three blocks away, and across the street.

He was tired and thirsty, but luckily there was a water drinking fountain there, where he was able to get a drink of water. He sat down on the park bench, where he tried to clear his mind and think about what had just happened a few minutes before, in the alley. He realized that he came dangerously close to being robbed, or even stabbed with a knife, but in the end, he was able to enter his attacker's mind and make him stab one of the other guys instead! It was as if he could control the minds of other people! Did he possess some kind of super power?

Just then, he heard a girl screaming from a distance.

"Stay away from me!"

Wolf got up and ran towards her voice and spotted a tall boy running after a younger girl. The girl seemed about 12 and the boy was about 15 or so.

"It's my lunch money!" the girl shouted.

"Give it to me!" the boy yelled back.

"Hey! Leave her alone!" Wolf said to the boy.

"Mind your own business, you twerp!" the boy said. Clearly, the boy was taller and stronger than Wolf, who was only 13.

"Go away!" Wolf shouted back.

"I'm gonna break your neck..." the boy said, in a threatening tone of voice, as he approached Wolf.

"GO AWAY!" Wolf shouted again.

Then, the boy suddenly turned around, and started to run.

"Hey! I'm.... What... is... going... on..." he panted, as he started to run farther and father away from Wolf and the girl.

The boy ran and ran, until he was out of sight. That's when he stopped running.

The boy then turned around and started running towards Wolf.

"Run around those trees over there!" Wolf commanded, while pointing at three trees, which were located close to each other.

The boy jogged over to the trees and started running laps around them, in a wide circle, until he nearly collapsed from exhaustion.

"He won't bother you anymore..." Wolf said to the girl. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah.... How... How did you do that?" she asked him.

"I... I don't know..." he replied.

Then he turned around and walked away. He stopped by the tree, and saw the boy, who was breathing very deep. He was extremely tired and his face was all sweaty.

"Leave the girl alone!" Wolf said to him.

He just stared at him, with a touch of fear in his eyes.

Wolf then turned around and walked away.
