Hayley sighed. "John, you know mom has a no tomboy rule..." she began.
"She also punished me for a crime I didn't commit!" you raged. "Why punish me more!?!"
Hayley conceded your point. "You're right, John. Mom did a terrible thing to you, she admitted that." she said. "We are all angry with her but you are going to have to wear something so we can go out to buy more clothes for you."
You were about to protest but Hayley cut you off. "We don't know how long this potion is going to last." she said. "It could be just a day, or a week, or even..."
"I get!, I get it!!" you screamed, crying. "It still doesn't make it right!"
"I know, John." said Hayley, sympathetically. "As I said, we'll do all we can to help you."
You sighed. "I'm not wearing a dress and that's final." you said. "Find something else."
"I don't want to force you with magic, John." said Hayley. it was the wrong thing to say.
"Try to force me and I'll use my athletics!" you yelled. "Even at my size, I'll give you a run for your money!"
"There's no need to threaten us with physical violence." said Hayley, frowning.
"There's no need to threaten me with magic." you countered.
Hayley sighed, frustrated. "You're right, John, I'm sorry." she said.
"Maybe you would be more comfortable in one of Hannah's denim skirts." suggested Megan. "I know their for girls but its the best we have that will fit your new size. Then, you can wear one of your own shirts over it as a compromise."
You thought about Megan's suggestion for a moment then nodded. "Done."
Megan smiled. "I'll go get one." she said, running off.
After she had left, Hayley turned to you. "Is there anything I can do to make you feel any better about this?" she asked.
"Yeah." you replied, crying again. "Tell mom I don't hate her but... I don't want her near me for a while."
