In front of you stood a serious looking man in a plain, black butler's uniform. Without changing the neutral expression on his face, he bows respectfully to you and says, "Master."
You took a step back, sputtering at this display, "W-what?" The other man had called you master as well , but whether it was shock or his teasing tone, it hadn't effected you as much.
The man took a step back. "My name is Keichi. I am your butler, sir," he said simply. "Allow me to show you your late uncle's will."
Before you could respond, he turned and started walking through the maze-like halls of the mansion. You soon realize that the mansion was way bigger than you ever expected. So big in fact that you doubted you could find your way back to the exit if given a compass and a week!
Keichi leads you into what you assume was your uncle's study. You never really knew much about your uncle, every once in a while he'd drop in for birthdays or holidays, bringing gifts from exotic countries he'd traveled too. You never got the sense that he was trying to show off his wealth-he was just eager to share with you and your family the spoils of his many hobbies.
In the center of the room was an ornate mahogany chair and a large screen TV. Keichi took his station by the screen and you, a little hesitantly, sat down in the chair. Keichi switched on the screen, fast forwarded a bit, and suddenly you were greeted to the face of your uncle.
You hadn't expected a video will, but you though it suited your uncles style just well.
He was propped up on the bed, tubes attached all over hid body, but still smiling, just as you remembered him. "And to my favorite grand-nephew," he smiled because you were his only grand-nephew. "I leave my house all it's grounds, my business and fifty-percent of my estate. Should be more than enough to keep you happy and feed for the rest of your long life." With a wink, he added "I also took the liberty of hiring a brand spankin' new staff, my boy, treat 'em like princes alright?"
You uncle then addressed the camera in a more business tone, talking you assumed to an old business partner. Keichi switched the TV off.
"S-so... You mean I own all of this?" You ask, flabbergasted.
"Yes, Master," Keichi replied impassively.
The two of you sat in silence.
"Wow," you say finally. It was all you could think to say. The enormity of the gift and the loss of your uncle stole all other words.
Keichi glanced at his watch, "It is time for dinner, sir. Allow me to take you to the dining room." Keichi's last words were muffled by the sound of the door being kicked in.
"Yo, chuckles!" You cringe immediately recognizing Taiga, "Where do you want the Master's shit. Cuz far be it from me to mess up your holy itinerary." You note the duffel bag full of your things that you had hastily packed slung over his shoulder.
For the first time, Keichi looks visibly riled. Not much, but the scary neutral expression was broken just a bit. "You are interrupting the master, already."
Taiga glances over at you and his face lights up in a grin. "Well look at that." He bowed, mocking the controlled and reserved bow Keichi had done earlier, "Forgive me your Highness." The joking, good natured tone of your voice put you at ease a little. Keichi seemed nice-if a little too intense- but you thought you'd go mad if everyone addressed you as 'master' or 'sir' all the time.
Keichi apparently did not feel the same way, "Get out!" he yelled jabbing a finger at the door. "And take off those disgusting boots!"
Taiga was just about to reply, when another head poked into the door. This face was much more feminine, and was framed by long brown hair. "Well, well, well what's going on in here?" he asked playfully.
"Nothing, Sai." Taiga muttered.
Keichi turned to address the new man, "Sai, take the Master down to the dinning room please."
The man-Sai-rolled his eyes alright. He gestured at you, "C'mon you must be super confused bu now."
You nod and almost leap out of your chair.
